Qhuchit

The lands of Qhuchit (KOO-cheet) are filled with mysteries and traditions. Because it is comprised almost entirely of swamplands, neither of the other two countries has ever shown interest in fighting for their lands. This is one of the reasons they're able to maintain their peaceful political stance.

They have many rare herbs and animals, some of which provide various poisons and potions only they produce. Furthermore they have a monopoly on the production of such explosive powders as that in fireworks, and they are technologically the most advanced of the countries. As a result, they are the place to go for such devices as spectacles, primitive telescopes, spyglasses, or other delicate tools. Given the natural deposits of copper in the mountains of their borders, they have adopted the element as their national currency, and many copper products can be found in and around their lands.

Their system of government is held together by tradition and clans, each of which is well trained in the arts of the ninja. These clans are unified by the Council of the Clan Leaders, headed by a chairman of sorts that is elected by the Council. Each clan has their own method of choosing its leader, whether it be by election, competition or bloodlines.

Born of their constant pursuit for knowledge and technological advancement (and their deadly efficiency, when angered), the primary deity of Qhuchit is Gnosis, though they do not exclude others.
